although it may be enchanting, be wary of falling for a nomadic heart

you’ll find wistful memories of long-forgotten mornings lingering upon her lips,
and longing for a far-away memory smoldering in the depths of her eyes will surely tear you apart

you’ll lose yourself hopelessly in her ponderances, just as she has lost herself so many times before
her heart beats more fiercely with each new place conquered, as though within dwells the spirit of seafarers setting out for the distant shore

do not dare latch onto her, for that shall be your last mistake
she is a spirit untethered, and to defy her is to pit yourself against gravity, as well as fate

but, if you choose not to heed my warning, then, perhaps, you shall forego this one, too
to question why it is that the horizon calls to her is to question why it is that the sky is blue

it is simply her nature, just as the wind sings softly to the trees
her beauty is ethereal, her embrace - as tender and enveloping as the breeze

her greatest allure, however, is not within her penchant to roam
but the peculiar certainty that, wherever you should be fortunate enough to find her, begins to feel just like home

and she’ll entice you to chase her, to prance across the prairies, and traipse whimsically amongst the trees
you’ll hear the echoes of her voice amidst the birdsong, and find her sweetness decadent, like honey crafted by the bees

if you have not the vitality, then you must simply let her go
for the pain of watching her float away is surely nothing to the agony of knowing that you once had her for your own

alas, she will never settle, as nomadic hearts are wont to do
her spirit was conceived to be whisked away a thousand times, and a thousand times more - born anew
