About Me

Hi, I'm Michael!

It is safe to say that I come from a non-traditional background. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language. I was also the honored recipient of  the prestigious Boren Scholarship, which provides study abroad opportunities to students pursuing languages critical to national security. 

Following school, I started my career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a Financial Analyst. Unhappy with my choice in Finance, I took the opportunity to work for the US State Department in Kazakhstan as a Student Ambassador, helping millions of guests to learn more about global sustainability initiatives, and the critical role that the US plays in this space. 

Wanting a new challenge, I pursued a Professional Certificate in Computer Science at The Flatiron School, where I found a new passion for technology and coding. Following my program, I started as a Software Engineer, and currently work for a late-stage, tech startup in New York City. 

Recently, I self-published my first book, (In)Sane, a harrowing memoir of my struggles with Bipolar Disorder and the consequences of untreated mental illness. The effort inspired me to not only record my journey, but to help others on theirs, as well. Through all of this, my love for writing has persisted, and I take every opportunity to hone my craft and share my thoughts with the world.
